Digital Param AI Chatbot connects your WordPress site to Botly, Digital Param’s own AI chat service, which answers your visitors’ questions from your own content — your pages, posts and products — instead of generic AI guesses.

Pair the site once with a code from your Botly dashboard and the chat widget appears. No theme editing, nothing to paste into footer.php, and nothing to redo when your theme updates.

What it does

  • Learns your site. Pages, posts and WooCommerce products (with prices and stock) are sent to Botly so the bot answers from real, current data. Changes are picked up as you save them.
  • Answers in the visitor’s language. The Botly service replies in the language the visitor writes in.
  • Shows the widget where you want it. Everywhere, only on certain pages, or everywhere except certain pages. Hidden on cart and checkout by default so it never covers the payment button.
  • Order Desk for WooCommerce (optional, off by default). Once the Botly service has verified that a chat visitor is one of your customers, they can check their order status and tracking, get their downloads and licence emails resent, receive their invoice, and ask for a refund or cancellation. Requests are only recorded; nothing is refunded or cancelled automatically.
  • Support requests (optional, off by default). When the bot cannot help, the visitor’s problem is emailed to you, with Reply-To set to them. On marketplaces (WooCommerce Product Vendors, Dokan, WCFM, WC Vendors, MultiVendorX) a complaint about a seller’s product can go straight to that seller.
  • Light on your site. The widget script loads deferred in the footer from a cached token, so pages never wait on Botly. If Botly is unreachable, your site is unaffected — the widget simply does not appear.

What you need

A Botly account. The free plan is enough to get started; paid plans add more websites, more messages and more features. See Botly pricing.

This plugin is free and fully functional. Plan limits (number of websites and messages) are applied by the Botly service, not by the plugin.

External services

This plugin connects your site to Botly, a hosted AI chat service run by Digital Param LLC. It cannot work without it. Here is exactly what is sent, when, and where.

1. Pairing and status checks — https://botly.digitalparam.com

  • When: when you enter a pairing code, when you press “Check again” on the settings page, and in the background if the cached widget token goes missing.
  • What is sent: the pairing code, your site’s address, and the versions of WordPress, WooCommerce (if installed) and this plugin. Every request after pairing is signed with a secret shared only between your site and Botly.

2. Content sync — https://botly.digitalparam.com

  • When: when you run “Sync everything now”, and whenever a published post, page or product is saved, trashed or deleted. Content sync can be switched off, and you choose which post types are included.
  • What is sent: the title, address, excerpt, text content, categories and last-modified date of each included item, plus price and stock for WooCommerce products. Drafts and private content are never sent.

3. The chat widget — served by https://botly.digitalparam.com

  • When: on every front-end page where the widget is set to appear.
  • What is sent: your visitor’s browser loads the widget script from Botly’s server. Messages a visitor types into the chat, and standard request data such as their IP address and browser, are processed by Botly to produce answers. Answers are generated by the AI provider configured in your Botly account.

4. Order Desk — requests come from Botly to your site (off by default)

  • When: only if you switch Order Desk on.
  • How a visitor is verified: verification happens in the Botly service, not in this plugin. The plugin’s only part is to answer whether an email address Botly sends it belongs to a registered customer who has placed orders. Every order request after that is limited to that one customer’s orders.
  • What is shared with Botly: order number, date, status, total, currency, the names and quantities of the items bought, the customer’s name, shipment tracking details, and whether the order contains downloads. Email addresses are masked. Billing and shipping addresses, phone numbers and payment details are never sent. Download links and licence keys are never shown in the chat — they are emailed by WooCommerce to the order’s own address.

5. Support requests — requests come from Botly to your site (off by default)

  • When: only if you switch support requests on, and a visitor reports a problem the bot could not answer.
  • What happens: the visitor’s name, email address and message are sent from Botly to your site, which emails them to you (or to the seller of the product), using your site’s own email setup.
