Historification

Your customers’ attention has moved to the short-form feed — reels, shorts and stories watched in the gaps of the day. Historification helps your company meet them there: it turns your expertise into polished short-form video, backed by a full article and image carousel, and publishes everything across your social networks automatically. You bring the topic and the taste; the plugin — a thin client for the Historification hosted backend — does the production and distribution.

The heavy lifting (AI generation, video assembly, platform OAuth, billing) happens on the Historification backend — nothing CPU-intensive runs on your WordPress host. Your articles live in WordPress as a custom post type, so your content stays on your domain.

You will need a Historification account and API key from https://historification.net. The plugin sends your article content to the backend for processing; see the Privacy section.

External services

Historification is a client for a hosted backend and relies on the third-party services below. Data is sent only when you take the matching action (generate content, register, subscribe, connect an account, publish). By using the plugin you consent to these data flows; full details are in the Historification Privacy Policy (https://historification.net/privacy) and Terms (https://historification.net/terms).

1. Historification backend API (required) — https://api.historification.net
   What it is: the hosted service that does the AI generation, media assembly, billing and publishing.
   Data sent, and when:

* When you generate content: the article title and body you choose to process, plus your topic profile (niche, voice, brand, audience) and your site domain.
* When you register or subscribe: your name, email address, business name, country and IP address.
* When you connect a social account: the OAuth authorization completes on the backend and the resulting access tokens are stored there — never in WordPress.
* Ongoing: article/publish counts, used to enforce your plan limits.

1. Stripe (payments) — https://stripe.com
   What it is: our payment processor. Paid plans are billed through Stripe.
   Data sent, and when: when you upgrade to a paid plan or open “Manage billing”, the plugin redirects your browser to Stripe’s secure hosted checkout / billing portal to enter and manage your card. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never pass through the plugin or the Historification backend.

2. AI, media hosting and social publishing (used by the backend on your behalf)
   To produce and deliver your content, the backend in turn uses OpenAI (text, image and voice generation), Google Cloud Storage (hosting generated images and video), and the social networks you connect (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) when you publish to them.
