Martto Friendly Reactions gives visitors a simple way to react to your content with a lightweight clap button.
The button can be shown automatically on posts, pages, and public custom post types. It can also be placed anywhere in the content with a shortcode. Multiple buttons in the same post stay synchronized, so every button represents the same clap count and daily visitor state.
Features include:
[marttofr_reactions] shortcode support for placing synchronized buttons anywhere in the same post. The plugin stores clap and message records in its own WordPress database tables. A random anonymous visitor key is stored in a first-party HttpOnly cookie with SameSite=Lax and expires at the next site-local midnight. The cookie is used to enforce daily clap and message limits.
For clap and message records, the plugin also stores the visitor IP address. Site owners should account for this data in their privacy policy and retention practices as required by applicable law. Records for a post are removed when that post is permanently deleted.
The plugin adds suggested text to the WordPress Privacy Policy Guide. Martto Friendly Reactions does not ask visitors for an email address, so its anonymous clap/message records cannot be reliably matched to WordPress personal-data export or erasure requests that are keyed by email address.
Deactivation keeps the plugin data. Uninstalling and deleting the plugin removes its settings and plugin-owned database tables.
Place the clap button at any position in post content:

You may place the shortcode more than once in the same post. All clap buttons for the same post share the same clap count, daily visitor limit, message state, and maximum-limit state. The automatic button at the end of the post remains visible unless the post-level hide option is enabled.
