Punjab E-Challan is an online digital traffic fine system introduced by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) in collaboration with Punjab Traffic Police. Instead of traditional paper-based challans, traffic violations are now recorded digitally through cameras and electronic devices installed across Punjab’s major roads, highways, and intersections.
When a vehicle violates traffic rules — such as over-speeding, signal jumping, wrong lane driving, or not wearing a seatbelt — the violation is captured electronically and a challan (fine) is issued against the vehicle’s registration number. Vehicle owners can then check their e-challan status online and pay the fine through designated banks or online payment systems.
If you run a WordPress website related to traffic, driving, vehicles, Pakistan news, or legal advice, adding an E-Challan checker tool on your site gives your visitors an extremely useful service. Instead of directing users to external government portals (which can be slow or hard to navigate), this plugin embeds the challan checking feature directly on your website.
This increases your website’s value, improves user engagement, reduces bounce rate, and helps establish your site as a trusted resource for Punjab traffic-related information.
The Punjab E-Challan system is managed by Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and Punjab Traffic Police. Here is how the system works:
Violation Detection — Traffic cameras and speed guns installed across Punjab roads capture traffic violations automatically. Officers on duty can also issue e-challans using handheld devices.
Challan Issuance — Once a violation is recorded, a digital challan is generated against the vehicle’s registration number in the PSCA system.
SMS Notification — The vehicle owner may receive an SMS notification about the challan on the mobile number registered with Excise & Taxation Department.
Online Verification — Vehicle owners can check their challan status online by entering their vehicle registration number.
Fine Payment — Challans can be paid at designated banks, through mobile banking apps, or online payment portals.
Clearance — Once paid, the challan is marked as cleared in the system.
The following traffic violations are commonly recorded under the Punjab E-Challan system:
