ToolMate Customer Insights

ToolMate Customer Insights

Details
View on WordPress

ToolMate Customer Insights gives WooCommerce store owners a first-party view of the journey behind carts and orders, directly inside WordPress.

Instead of treating every technical session or empty cart record as a customer, Customer Insights separates meaningful shopping activity from low-signal noise and keeps the useful context visible: pages viewed, products explored, cart activity, source signals, campaign parameters and recovery opportunities.

What you can see

  • First-party visitor and customer journey tracking.
  • Page, product, click, scroll and active-time context.
  • WooCommerce cart capture and cart-state monitoring.
  • Real Traffic View to separate credible carts from uncertain or technical records.
  • Source, referrer and landing-page context.
  • UTM parameters plus GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID and FBCLID visibility when present.
  • Individual journey views with pages, products and recorded activity.
  • High-intent visitor indicators based on recorded first-party store behaviour.

Cart and recovery tools

  • Abandoned-cart detection before a WooCommerce order exists.
  • Abandoned-order recovery after checkout creates an unpaid order.
  • Manual recovery sending from WordPress admin.
  • Automatic cart and order recovery when explicitly enabled by an administrator.
  • Four ready-made recovery email themes.
  • Recovery email preview and test-email tools before automation is enabled.
  • Optional recovery email open tracking, disabled by default.

Reporting and store diagnostics

  • Daily funnel and traffic-quality diagnostics.
  • Cart-quality diagnostics that keep technical noise out of headline metrics.
  • CSV report export.
  • Configurable data-retention periods.
  • WordPress personal-data export and erasure integration.
  • WooCommerce HPOS compatibility declaration.

Customer Insights Free is designed to be useful on its own. A separate Customer Insights Pro product may add deeper recovery automation, reporting and store controls, but the WordPress.org plugin does not require Pro to provide its core functionality.

ToolMate Customer Insights stores first-party WooCommerce journey data in the site’s own WordPress database. Depending on configuration and customer activity, this can include page and product activity, cart contents, checkout contact details, landing/referrer URLs, campaign parameters (such as UTM values and supported click IDs), browser/device information, country/region information returned by WooCommerce geolocation, a masked IP network and a salted IP hash.

When “Respect statistics consent signal” is enabled (the default), Customer Insights does not create its visitor identifier or store journey, cart, checkout identity or IP-derived tracking data until a statistics-consent signal has been granted. The frontend recognises the WordPress Consent API and selected common consent-cookie signals. If no recognised statistics-consent signal is present, tracking remains off.

The plugin uses these first-party cookies when applicable:

  • toolmate_ci_consent: a non-identifying yes/no marker used to keep server-side WooCommerce cart capture aligned with the visitor’s statistics-consent state.
  • toolmate_ci_vid: a random first-party visitor identifier created only after consent when consent protection is enabled.

Automatic abandoned-cart and abandoned-order recovery emails are disabled by default. An administrator must explicitly enable either automation. Manual recovery sending remains an administrator action.

Cart-recovery email open tracking is optional and disabled by default. If enabled, cart-recovery emails include a 1×1 image request that records the first open time for that recovery email.

Collected Customer Insights journey data is not transmitted to ToolMate Labs. The plugin can use WooCommerce’s own IP geolocation facilities when available. Data retention periods are configurable, and the plugin integrates with WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools. It also adds suggested privacy-policy text under WordPress privacy settings.

By default, uninstalling the plugin keeps collected data to prevent accidental analytics loss. Administrators can explicitly enable “Delete all Customer Insights data on uninstall” before uninstalling if they want the plugin tables and settings removed.
