Description

Institute of development Studies (IDS) manages a project Knowledge Services that seeks to provide a bridge between research, policy and practice in international development by delivering and supporting a range of information-sharing services, and strengthening the ability of others to do the same. With over forty years experience in this field, IDS aims to help people understand and make sense of the complexities and realities of poverty and injustice, emphasising the importance of using diverse and credible information in decision-making processes. This is done through opening up access to research information, stimulating demand for its use, and strengthening the capacity of others also engaged in this knowledge brokering role
. By providing access to free resources like publications and organisations, IDS enables many to understand and champion the role of information in tackling poverty and injustice and help address the power imbalances and capacity constraints that limit people’s ability to access and make use of information.

ids_knowledge_services plugin provides access to free publications and organisations. this is through searching through two databases bridge (http://www.bridge.ids.ac.uk/) and eldis (http://www.eldis.org/). the plugin also provides information on statistics of the publications by region, theme /subject, topic etc. the plugin show the most recent as well as old documents and organisations.
